How an engagement runs
Nobody wants a methodology. This is what happens, with you at every step, whether it takes six weeks or six years.
We find out what is actually being asked, which is rarely what was written down. Who it is for, what has already been tried, what is genuinely fixed and what everyone has just assumed. Short, and the cheapest week of the engagement by a distance.
Research where research will change the answer. Then the structure — the journeys, the model, the architecture, the thing that decides what everything else hangs off. This is the part that is expensive to get wrong and nearly free to get right early.
Design, in the open, in working screens rather than flat comps. You see it behaving early and often, and you change your mind while changing your mind is still cheap. We’re comfortable with you watching over our shoulder, as long as you’re ok with us calling you a creep.
We stay through the build, because the parts that are hard to build are exactly the parts that quietly disappear. When the seat is filled or the thing is shipped, we hand over what we made — files, system, reasoning — and step back.
